NSE Ends On Bullish Note …As Capitalisation Gains N67bn
Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended on a bullish note yesterday with some blue chips recording price gains.
The All- share Index appreciated by 1011.32 points to close at 36,043.48 compared with 35,032.16 recorded on Monday.
Similarly market capiatalisation, which opened at N11.347 trillion, grew by N67 billion or 0.59 per cent to close at N11.414 trillion.
Nestle topped the gainers’ chart with N14 to close at N950 per share.
Total followed with N7 to close at N158 per share, while GlaxoSmithKline grew by N5 to close at N67 per share.
Forte Oil appreciated by N1.48 to close at N18.50 per share, while GTBank was up with N1 to close at N25 per share.
On the other hand, CAP led the price losers chart with N4.82 to close at N43.70 per share.
International Breweries came second, dropping N2 to close at N24 per share, while Berger Paint lost N1.13 to close at N10.25 per share.
Arbico depreciated by 69k to close at N6.22 per share, while UBN dipped by 44k to close at N12 per share.
Transcorp was the most traded stock with 245.65 million sharse valued at 327.39 million.
Aso Savings came second with 20 million shares worth N10 million and was followed by Access Bank with 18.72 million share valued at N200.3 million.
Aiico sold 17.75 million shares valued at N15.97 million, while Zenith followed with 16.75 million share worth N337.95 million
Reports say that investors exchanged 463.01 million shares worth N2.9 billion in 5,189 deals in contrast to the 315.77 million shares valued at N1.9 billion exchanged in 4,099 deals last Monday.
