Omoku Residents Want Improved Security
Rivers State Government has been urged to evolve strategies aimed at addressing the increasing rate of criminal activities at Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The Managing Director of Saint Roberts International Agency Nigeria (SRIAN), managers of Caledonia Hotel, Mr. Sunny Robert made the call in an interview with The Tide at Omoku.
He explained that the call became necessary in order to save the lives and properties of the people as well as protect establishments operating in the area.
Mr. Robert further recalled a recent alleged robbery operation in his hotel in which guests were robbed of their cash and valuables worth thousands of Naira.
The managing director expressed dismay that the peaceful atmosphere presently sustained in various parts of the state by the present administration led by Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi is not prevalent in the area following activities of hoodlums, cultists and other forms of social vices.
It is against this backdrop that Mr. Robert appealed that the suspect of the alleged robbery operation in the hotel now in police custody at Omoku should be made to face the full wrath of the law.
The Tide gathered that the suspect whose name was identified as Gift has been allegedly terrorising the area with his gang.
When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of the area told The Tide that the police was investigating the case and promised that it would be given speedy attention.
