Commission To Maintain Staff Promotion Rule
The Rivers State Local Government Service Commission has assured that the on-going promotion exercise for senior staff of the Unified Local Government Service of the Third Tier Government would be conducted strictly according to the service rule.
The Chairman of the Commission, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini gave the assurance while addressing staff of Abua/Odual, Ahoada East and Ahoada West Local Government Areas during their promotion exercise at the Port Harcourt City Council Hall.
Chief Nmerukini disclosed “any staff who does not possess Ordinary National Diploma (OND) especially those in the Executive Cadre will not be promoted beyond Salary Grade Level 07”.
He added, “The era of completing three years to earn promotion in the service is gone as hard work and efficiency would be the yardstick for promotion”.
The Chairman declared “it is no more business as usual as the Commission is now poised to encourage diligence and dedication to duty as necessary tools to promote productivity in the service”.
Chief Nmerukini averred “the stand of the commission is to verify all certificates presented before the promotion panel with relevant institutions of learning and advised all those with fake certificates to steer clear to avoid unpleasant action against them.”
