In its bid to offer ease of payments at no risk for Corps members, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has expressed its preparedness to introduce E-Naira to the scheme.
The NYSC would be partnering with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on the use of the internet money for Corps members.
CBN Deputy Director, Information Technology, Habib Yusuf, made this known when he led some staff of the bank on a courtesy visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja, Monday.
According to him, the e-naira would allow onboarding of many users and off-line payments for goods and services.
He said the e-naira would also offer its users the opportunity of many innovations with ease.
Responding to the CBN request for partnership, the Acting Director- General, NYSC, Mrs Ifeyinwa Uba, commended the apex bank for the innovation.
Ifeyinwa said the NYSC was willing and ready to work with the CBN or any other organisation on any innovation that would make the service year memorable for the Corps Members.
She said the NYSC Management would consider the request from the CBN and expressed hopes of understanding by the corps members.
