Ogu CTC Boss Lauds RSG On Lassa Fever

Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Isaac Ibiberebupakabo, has commended the Rivers State Government on its proactive action against the spread of the lassa fever in the State.
Isaac Ibiberebupakabo, who made the commendation during a sensitisation campaign against lassa fever by the Rivers State Primary HealthCare of the Ministry of Health in Ogu said despite the earlier victims, the government had contained the epidemic from spreading, saying that its intervention was timely and enjoined it not to relent until the state was lassa faver free.
Represented by the Council Secretary Mr Dagogo Alabo, the Ogu/Bolo Local Government boss promised to carry the campaign to all nooks and crannies of the local government including the fishing settlements, and assured that the council would continue to support the Primary HealthCare team in the area to achieve set goals.
He further assured of maintaining the sanitary condition of the local government and charged all to keep their environments clean to prevent any form of disease.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Theophilus Odame who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Agiriye Harry warned against exposing food stuffs and the need to maintain clean environment and enjoined all to do the needful in order to save lives.
In his remarks, the Director, Primary HealthCare, Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Dr Princewill Ukot thanked all that made the programme a huge success and promised to take the campaign to homes in order to sensitise them on the need to prevent the disease.
