NASK Improves Standard Of Karate
In a bid to improve the technical knowledge of members of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN) ahead of the forthcoming 17th National Sports Festival and the All African Games billed to hold in Mozambique next year, the Nigeria Association of Shokotan Karate (NASK), held a three-day technical course in Port Harcourt.
Sensei Emmanuel Metu, Chairman of the National League of Karate, told Tidesports during the 3-day programme held at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Sports complex that the aim of the programme was to improve the technical standard of members of Shokotan Karate institute and the KFN, as well.
According to him, the programme was also a way of contributing their quota to the development of KFN by improving the lots of Karatekas in the country.
He said that, the course would help enhance performance of Karatekas and officials in the up coming 17th National Sports Fiesta and All African Games in Mozambique.
Metu, who is also an instructor in the NASK, said that the programme was also used to afford members the opportunity to reunite and interact on matters affecting the Association, saying that, it was a good way to end the year.
The NASK boss, who led the KFN to the 2007 All African Games maintained that athletes discovered from the 17th National Sports festival tagged “Garden City games 2011” would be sent into camping and groomedahead of the 2011 All African Games.
It would be recalled that the Three-day Shokotan karate course was made open to all Karate organisation in Rivers State and beyond.
The Nigeria Association of Shokotan Karate (NASK) is a Karate Institute for all Karatekas in the country.
