Boko Haram: Cleric Tasks Christians On Prayers
The Rivers State
Chairman of the Sabbath Day Observers of Nigeria (SADON), Chinedu Amadi has called on Christians to continuously pray against the activities of the Boko Haram and other terrorist organizations in the country.
In his address at the end of the one week prayers/fasting meeting organised by the body for the peace of the nation at Pillar of Truth Church, Igwuruta, in the Ikwerre Local Government Area. Amadi stressed the need for continuous payers by Christians irrespective of denominations.
According to him, as long as God answers prayers, the activities of the Boko Haram and other terrorist organisations will be defeated.
The cleric, who described the activities of Boko Haram as evil, emphasised the need for Nigerians to show concern as well as assist the government to end the crisis.
He decried the continuous waste of innocent lives by the Sect members in the affected states and used the occasion to call on parents to advise their children not to engage in any act that would be inimical to societal progress.
The cleric also urged the government to ensure that the forth-coming general elections were free and devoid of violence.
Earlier in his sermon, the Pastor incharge of the Church of God Sabbath Eleme, Apostle Isaac Etim, said “God wants man to reconcile with him through repentance”, noting that “it is also a way of getting prayers answered”.
