PDP Govs’ Forum Hails S’Court Victory For Fubara, Kefas
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum led by Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has congratulated the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and his Taraba counterpart, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on the Supreme Court judgment, reaffirming their victories in the March 18, 2023 governorship elections.
The Forum hailed the Supreme Court’s decisions as a testament to the peoples will, acknowledging the unwavering support from the citizens of Rivers and Taraba States.
The congratulatory message was issued by the Director-General of PDP-GF, Hon. C.I.D. Maduabum.
He commended the Justices for upholding democracy and respecting the voice of the electorate.
“In Rivers State, the victory is seen as a triumph for the peace-loving and vibrant residents, bringing an end to election litigations and ensuring stability under Governor Fubara’s visionary leadership. The result lays a solid foundation for sustained good governance and people-centric services.
“Fubara, in his six months in office, has spearheaded numerous projects in infrastructure, housing, agriculture, women and youth empowerment, civil service employment, workers’ welfare, and healthcare, aiming to alleviate poverty in Rivers State.
“In Taraba State, Governor Kefas has garnered widespread support for his development-focused approach. He has surpassed expectations, making notable strides in youth inclusion, women empowerment, state security, and fostering reconciliation among diverse ethnic groups, creating an environment conducive to investment and peaceful coexistence”, the Forum said.
The Forum urged Fubara and Kefas to continue with their commitment to people-oriented development, aligning with the PDP’s policy thrust and manifesto.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
