2023: GDI Urges Nigerians To Support Fubara, PDP Candidates

A socio-political and grassroots mobilisation group in Rivers State, the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI), Opobo/Nkoro Chapter, has called on Nigerians, especially Rivers people to rally round the governorship standard-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general election.
The group, which congratulated Fubara on his emergence, in a statement by its Coordinator, Senibo Emeka John-Africa; and Secretary, Senibo Chidi Stewart; respectively, said that the group identified with Fubara’s courage in contesting the election, having served the state in various capacities in the civil service, rising to the position of permanent secretary and accountant-general.
They said: “His-never-give up spirit” is highly commendable and will yield the desired result come 2023. Fubara definitely has something to offer Rivers people, hence his persistence in the race thus far.
“As the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has performed well thus far; we need the likes of Fubara, who is a successful administrator, to steer the ship of state come 2023.
“Fubara’s popularity cannot be questioned or under-estimated. He believes that Rivers people are capable of achieving success and perform to their optimum, if provided the right environment and unalloyed support. Fubara has a workable manifesto for the three senatorial districts in the state,”the GDI declared.
The GDI also commended the emergence of an erudite scholar, Prof. Ngozi Ordu, as the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stressing that it was a thing of joy to have the person of Ordu as running mate of the governorship candidate of the PDP in Rivers State, describing the choice as wise and acceptable.
The group further assured the duo of Fubara and Ordu of mobilising for their electoral victory in the February, 2023 governorship election in the state.
“Fubara and Ordu will bring a huge leadership capital to the table in our collective quest to rescue Rivers State from indescribable governance rot and restore hope to our people.
“We, in the home front of grassroots mobilisation, are ready to ensure that victory is certain come next year’s polls in the state,” the group boasted.
