Community Debunks Rumours On Ex-Commissioner
The Kaani Babbe Community in Khana Local Government Area has expressed shock over a viral video on the internet wherein the name of Prof. Roseline S. Konya and others were allegedly associated with some diabolical activities.
In a joint statement signed by the Paramount Ruler of the community, Chief Worika Fade and Community Development Committee Chairman, Precious Ledogo Nnaa, the community called on Ogonis and well-meaning people of the State to disregard the false information circulated on the social media concerning Prof. Konya whom they described as a distinguished mother and elder stateswoman.
The statement noted that the character of the revered Professor cannot be assassinated by anybody.
It noted that she has earned and sustained her reputation for so many years without doubt; and sealed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ through the Methodist Church of Nigeria, where she has remained an eminent member.
“Her children and herself financed the building of the Kaani-Babbe Methodist Church with the support of family and friends, which was later renamed in honour of her late husband, Barido Konya Memorial Methodist Church Kaani-Babbe Babbe circuit”, the statement declared.
The Kaani Babbe Community affirmed that by this, and based on her social status, she could not and would not be associated with the evil video.
“She is a true Christian and a role model to many.It is being sponsored and we won’t have any of it. Indeed, we are better than this”.
The statement gave a 72 hour ultimatum to the sponsors of the viral video, to apologise for the despicable act.
