Obuah Flags Off ONELGA PDP LG Poll Campaign, Hails Wike
Amid pomp and fanfare, the credit side of the balance sheet of the Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration in Rivers State were showcased at the weekend in Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government (ONELGA), when the erstwhile chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Bro Felix Obuah, at the flag-off of the party’s local government rally in the area, reeled out “Wike’s gargantuan achievements in the past six years”, assuring that PDP would sweep the April 17 polls in the state.
Insisting that Wike’s giant strides in the provision of much-needed amenities to the grassroot and the development of infrastructure in the state have endeared the party to the electorate who are earnestly desirous of giving PDP candidates their mandate at the council poll.
Obuah, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Authority (RIWAMA), who led party signings that included Chief Oris Onyiri, Hon Nathaniel Uwaji, Hon Christian Ahiakwo, Hon Prince Obi Ohia, Chief Victor Odili, Hon Chris Ochije, Chief Frank Amifor, Chief Ofili Enebeli, Pastor Ejekwe Princewill, and Sir Shedrack Chukwu at the presentation of flags to the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon Vincent Job and 17 ward councillorship candidates, listed several on-going and already-executed projects in the area and commended the Governor for siting the zonal hospital to be commissioned soon at ONELGA and the dualisation of the Omoku-Egbema Road abandoned by federal government.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the PDP chairmanship flag bearer, Sir Vincent Job and the councillorship candidates to deliver democracy dividends to the people, and harped on the need to work relentlessly in replicating Wike’s new vision in the area.
Obuah noted with delight that the tumultuous crowd that openly passed confidence vote on the candidates was an overwhelming evidence of their acceptability by the people and the popularity of the PDP in the area.
In his speech, the ONELGA Council Chairman and the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Amb Victor Odili recounted the party’s achievements since the inception of the Fourth Republic and enjoined everyone to identify with the party and its candidates to move the area forward.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Prince Ohia, charged the party faithful to work assiduously to ensure landslide victory for the party at the poll.
In his remarks, the ONELGA PDP party chairman, Pastor Ejekwu Princewill assured that with the party’s full preparation for the poll, which includes a tour of the six geopolitical zones in the area, the party would emerge victorious.
Speaking at the sidelines of the event, the party’s chairmanship flagbearer, Vincent Job, said he was confident of victory given his wide acceptability by the people of the area.
He assured the people of the area that he would not betray the confidence they reposed in him, insisting that he would deliver meaningful and far-reaching democracy dividends if given the mandate.

VIO HOLDS COLLABORATIVE MEETING WITH AUPCTRE IN RIVERS STATE
The Chief of the Rivers State Road Traffic and Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO), Engr. Akobo Monibo, alongside other executive officers of the agency, received the leadership of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Employees (AUPCTRE), Rivers State Council, during a courtesy and interactive meeting held at the office of the Chief VIO.
The delegation was led by the State Chairman of AUPCTRE, Comrade Tamunoiminabo Toby, accompanied by other executive members of the union.
Speaking during the meeting, Engr. Akobo Monibo expressed appreciation to the union leadership for identifying with the VIO at this crucial time and commended the union for its commitment towards workers’ welfare and institutional development.
According to him, the responsibilities of the VIO remain enormous and vital to the development of a safer transportation system within the state.
In his response, the State Chairman of AUPCTRE, Comrade Tamunoiminabo Toby, appreciated the warm reception and hospitality extended to the union delegation by the leadership of the VIO.
He explained that the purpose of the courtesy visit was to facilitate the establishment of an AUPCTRE Unit or Chapter within the VIO, noting that the union already has members within the Ministry of Transport and other related agencies.
The chairman further emphasized the benefits of union membership, especially in promoting workers’ welfare, unity, cooperation, and professional representation within government establishments.
Also speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Chief VIO, Comrade Livings Denoi, appreciated the union for the visit and welcomed the move towards establishing a VIO Chapter of AUPCTRE, describing it as a positive step toward strengthening collaboration and staff welfare within the agency.
Other personalities present during the meeting included Sup. Stella Jacks and the State Secretary of AUPCTRE, Comrade Okpeyeme Adebajo, alongside other officials from both organizations.
The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to partnership, institutional growth, and the promotion of efficient service delivery in Rivers State.
