Bishop Charges Ogu Community On Peace
The Bishop of Okrika Diocese Anglican Communion, Rt Rev. Tubo Koseimie Abere has enjoined the people of Ogu Kingdom in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area to sustain their peaceful disposition in order on attract more development in the area.
Bishop Abere made the call when he led a delegation to a courtesy visit to the Amanyanabo of Ogu Kingdom, King Nicholas Dickson Ibiebele Nimenibo Loko IX and his Council of Chiefs as part of activities marking the second session of the fifth Diocesan Synod holding at St Martins Anglican Church, Ogu.
According to him, the prevailing peace had enabled the annual programme to be held in Ogu and prayed for more developments, fear of God and favour for the community to move forward, appealing to the chiefs and people of Ogu to always support and cooperate with their monarch by promulgating laws that would not take the community backward.
Responding, the Amanyanabo of Ogu Kingdom, His Majesty King Nicholas Dickson Ibielebe Nimenibo, Loko IX maintained that the prevailing peace in the area was as a result of their love for God and urged them to worship Him and be supportive to the Church despite their positions.
The monarch thanked the Bishop and his delegates for their visit which showed their love and respect for the traditional institution and lauded Senator George Thompson Sekibo for his contributions to the community.
Also speaking during the reception, the Chairman, Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs (ODCC), Chief Lawrence Abiebiari Inibi Egbelekpiki thanked God that after the 2008 Synod which was hosted in Ogu while he was chairman of the local government council, it is being held when he is also chairman of ODCC and expressed joy over the spiritual development in the Anglican Communion during the tenure of Bishop Abere.
Dignitaries present at the occasion include the Amanyanabo of Bolo Kingdom, King Frank Micah Acheseinimie, the General Manager, Radio Rivers, Sir Sampson Fiberesima, among others.
