Group Urges Creativity In Schools
Mind Africa Leadership Initiative, a Port Harcourt-based non-governmental organisation, has called on managers of schools across the country to develop the culture of creativity among their children and wards.
Chairman, Board of Trustees of the organisation, Engr Emeka Ene, who made the call at the 2016 School Maker Fair in Port Harcourt, said that Nigerian children possess the skills and talents to solve the nation’s practical problems.
Ene said that, it was in view of this that the organisations was setting up school makers clubs in both primary and secondary schools across the country.
He said that the objective of the school maker clubs was to promote a forum for future young Nigerian scientists and technologists to develop their talents.
Also speaking, Executive Director, Mind Africa Leadership Initiative, Mrs Olere Unebbey, said that the school maker fair was not about competition but a celebration of creativity.
Unebbey further said that the situation was to support younger ones to develop their innate potentials with the view to providing solutions to society’s problems.
On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Cinfores, Engr Ibifuro Asawo stressed the need for Nigerians to develop a process that will turn her people into makers and innovators.
He commended Mind Africa Leadership Initiative for coming up with the annual School Maker Fair Programme and pledged the support of the management of Ccinfores.
