RSUST Calls For Release Of Prof Ogburie
The Rivers State Univer
sity of Science and Technology (RSUST) has called on the abductors of Professor Michael Ogburie to release him unconditionally in the interest of his family and the university community.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Blessing Didia made the call yesterday during a press briefing in Port Harcourt.
According to him, Professor Ogburie was kidnapped at about 10p.m. last Saturday while returning from school to his home town, Elele in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Prof Didia who said that the university was deeply concerned about the abduction of the lecturer, stressed that the university had not received a word from the abductors.
He described Professor Ogburie as one the most serious lecturers in the institution, and called on security agencies to do something urgently to ensure the release of the lecturer from the kidnappers.
He also called on the students and the entire staff of the university to remain calm, saying that the management is in touch with security agencies on this matter.
The abductors of the professor have not made any demand, neither speak to anybody.
