Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has charged Christians to leave behind worthy legacies to posterity.
Governor Wike stated this at the weekend at the funeral service in honour of late Dr. Dennisada Fiabema held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Okrika in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Ipalibo Harry-Banigo eulogised late Dennisada Fiabema, describing her as one who stood for righteousness and was devoted to her duties.
Wike described the deceased as a great daughter of the state, who was passionate about Rivers State and called on other women to emulate her sterling qualities.
He recalled late Dr. Fiabema’s working career in the state civil service where she rose to the post of Permanent Secretary and said, “her standard never dropped”.
The governor however enjoined friends and relatives of the deceased to ensure that her legacies are not left to die especially her non-governmental organisation that catered for the less-privileged.
“I pray that God will grant the state and your family the grace to bear this great loss even though we are confident that she is resting in the bosom of the Lord”, she said.
Earlier, in his sermon, Venerable Enoch Atuboyedia said late Dr. Fiabema was like Apostle Paul, who did not think of herself but was selfless, and urged Christians to remain faithful to God till the end.
