Queenstown Church Holds 2014 Adult Harvest, Sunday
All roads will lead to Queenstown in Opobo/ Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State when St. John’s Anglican Church rolls out her drums to celebrate its annual harvest and thanksgiving on Sunday, 23rd November 2014.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Vicar in charge of St. John’s Anglican Church, Queenstown, Rev. Julius T.M Green said that this year’s harvest with the theme ‘The Lord has need of you’ will be a special one because everyone who honours the invitation will be in for a special tangible blessing from God. He described harvest as a special time in the life of every believer because it is a time of receiving from God, and not a time to feel burdened by the work of God.
‘There are lots of work to be done in the church, and without people, nobody will do the job. We need to come together, and God will help us to achieve, It is only his blessings that will sustain us,” he said.
As part of the plan to make this year’s harvest a special one, Sir (Dr) Amaopusenibo Justus C Uranta will be the special chief launcher. He will be assisted by numerous co chief launchers who have already indicated interest to be at the event.
On what makes St. Johns Church Queenstown, and indeed all the parishes he has been sent to exceptional, Rev Green said he takes his ministry very seriously because he is accountable to God, and owes every soul the duty to lead them to God. He called on every indigene of Queenstown to honour the invitation to the harvest, and make God happy.
“’We introduce St. Johns Church Queenstown as ‘Queen’s Palace, we see it as such and God is helping us to upgrade the Church, so come all yea faithful sons and daughters of Queenstown and their friends, let us give thanks to God because He has blessed you, and he has need of you,” Rev. Green concluded.
