RSG Assures On Community Dev Projects Coordination
The Rivers State Ministry
of Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, says it has taken necessary measures to ensure the coordination of community development projects in the state.
The Commissioner, Hon Charles Okaye said this during the inauguration/workshop for community project management committee end Zonal Community Development Officers in eight selected communities for the 2014 grant for Development Initiative in Port Harcourt.
Hon Okaye who also charged in the committee members on the proper implementation of the projects said that the ministry was deeply concerned about the successes of the various government projects in the communities.
He said that members must work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them both by the community and the ministry.
Later in an interview with newsmen the commissioner said that the projects were selected to the benefiting communities.
“The different communities have chosen, different finds of projects for the communities some of them water project” he said.
In his keynote address, the project Director Deancon Ephraim B. Owhorodu said that the workshop was one of the several training programmes lined up the 2014 budget. Deacon Owhorodu said that the programme was expected to enlighten participants of the role expected of them as well as equipping them with the requiste tools and knowledge needed for enhanced performances of the expected mandate.
He further said that the workshop crowed expose participants to the contemporary ideas and models of community conflict management, and resources mobilization.
The Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon Chibuke Rotimi Amaechi commended the World Bank European union, the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Rivers State Ministry of Finance and the Rivers State Ministry of Budget for their support.
