Artistes End Ten-Year Crisis
The Rivers State branch
of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has resolved its legal tussle after ten years.
President of the association, Lady Ibituru Green who disclosed this at a thanksgiving service at God Heritage International Ministries in Port Harcourt said that the association no longer has factions.
Green popularly known as Lady I.B, described the crisis as a big set back to the association, stressing that the situation reduced in the eyes of the public.
She decried the attitude of some musicians who instead of using their talents to improve the condition of the society were fomenting trouble.
She said PMAN would recover all that it had lost and disclosed that the association was planning a musical Academy in the state.
She appealed to the state government to assist the association in building a permanent secretariat.
In his sermon, the General Overseer of the church, Rev. Felix Akara thanked the association for resolving its crisis and urged the members to use their talents to praise God.
The General Overseer who spoke on the topic, Diligent Ways To Greatness enjoined the musicians to remain diligent in their profession and described the role of musicians as wonderful.
Also speaking, the chairman, PMAN thanksgiving service, Mr Afi Douglas, said that the Association was now prepared to feature prominently in the affairs of the state.
