Lawmaker Rallies Support For Rainstorm Victims
A lawmaker, Mr
Babatunde Edunjobi, has urged stakeholders in the emergency management sector to support the state government in providing succour for victims of rainstorm.
Edunjobi, the member representing Yewa South Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, made the call in Abeokuta recently during plenary.
He said Monday’s rainstorm, which ravaged some communities at Idogo, Ipaja and Ipake in Yewa South local government, led to destruction of properties worth millions of naira.
The lawmaker commended the state government for its prompt response in providing immediate relief to victims, stating that there is still more to be done to relief the victoms of the disaster.
Responding, the Speaker, Mr Suraj Adekunbi, commiserated with the victims over the incident, saying government would continue to assist them.
