Legislator Hails Amaechi’s Developmental Strides
A member of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Legborsi Nwidadah has commended Rivers State governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi for undertaking massive infrastructural development of the state, particularly in Khana Local Government Area of the state.
Hon. Nwidadah, who represents Khana Constituency 1 also appealed to Rivers people to support Governor Amaechi throughout his remaining tenure to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy to them.
Speaking during a tour of some projects embarked upon by the government in his constituency, Hon. Nwidadah said the government deserved commendation, for initiating and executing the people – oriented projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
The projects include: the Luubara-Duboro road project; Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road project; Khana constituency-1 project for 2012 at Kpean, Federal Constituency project at Duburo and the site of the Nyorkiri Primary School project as well as the 2013 Khana constituency1 project – the Ken Saro-Wiwa Multi-Purpose Centre at Bean.
According to the legislator, “some of the things we’ve always yearned for in Khana are here with us – road construction and expansion, health care delivery, model schools, scholarship for some students and empowerment programme – courtesy of the Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi administration”.
“The day of empty promises are over in the constituency, what we’ve been witnessing in Khana is a new dawn, and the development strides of the government in our area is unprecedented. What we have now is real action geared towards full development of the area, even the health facilities are being resuscitated and new primary schools are under construction”, he said.
Nwidadah maintained that beyond his constituency”, Governor Amaechi had shown that the gains of development as demonstrated by this administration’s penchant for it, is realisable. This is as a result of the fact that in the last six years, particularly since we came in-two years ago, the good people of Rivers State have witnessed tremendous efforts and sincerity of purpose in human and capital development, good road network, provision of better facilities for schools, improving the health sector, and provision of scholarships for indigent students among other things”.
Nwidadah who assured his constituents that he remained committed to “able representation’ through the process of law making, which is his primary assignment assured that he would always strive to attract projects to the constituency by ensuring their inclusion in the state annual budgets, and urged the people to continue to count on him, as he would not let them down in anyway, and should discountenance detractors who are merely pursuing their selfish agenda.

APC Unveils New NWC At National Convention
Delegates at the convention, held at the Eagle Square, also produced a new national working committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement endorsed by stakeholders.
Dr Ben Nwoye was named deputy national chairman (south), replacing Mr Emma Eneukwu, following consultations within the party.
Sources within the party said the decision was influenced by zoning considerations and consultations among party leaders, with Mr Peter Mbah, Enugu State governor, playing a significant role in ensuring Dr Nwoye’s inclusion.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Yilwatda said his re-election was a call to greater service and pledged commitment to unity within the ruling party.
“We are ready to serve, ready to lead, and we are ready to build the party, together with the nation,” he said.
