NAPPS Checks Proliferation Of Private Schools
The Rivers State chapter of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), says it has brought proliferation of private schools in the state under check.
The chapter, President Dr Peter Harrison who dropped this hint while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt said it was part of his duty as NAPPS President. He lauded the cordial relationship between the Ministry of Education and NAPPS and stated that they are looking forward to a brighter future.
The NAPPS President listed some achievements including the procurement of Land for its permanent site adding that the association has among other things, tackled the multiple taxation syndrome through its presentation at the Public Hearing organised by the Rivers State House of Assembly, recently.
He explained that the group now remits all its dues and taxes to the government through the bank, which according to him, has saved them from the hands of fake revenue agents.
The President attributed their set back to lack of fund.
The suggested ten years teaching experience for those seeking to establish private schools adding that the persons must have education qualification.
Harrison also revealed that his members now enjoy a better relationship through face book chat which helps members to air their views.
