Governor Donates Land To Women Fellowship
Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has
donated a piece of land to El-madon Interdenominational Fellowship for its
worship centre.
Governor Amaechi’s donation was in fulfillment of his pledge
to provide a befitting worship centre to the women fellowship group.
Disclosing this at the weekend during a visit to the
proposed fellowship centre, wife of the Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi said the
governor was pleased with the activity of the women fellowship, especially in
promoting peace and neighbourliness among communities in the state.
She stated that location of the worship centre was conducive
for religious activity and appreciated the government for the gesture.
Mrs Amaechi also added that women are agents of change and
have the potential through prayers to correct societal ills, and urged them not
to neglect their obligation to their families and the society.
She called on women to redouble their faith in God and be
steadfast in their prayers to usher in sustainable peace in the nation.
While dedicating the land, Reverend Father Steve Dedua
enjoined women to realise who they are and the power they possess through
prayers to cause positive change in the state.
He offered prayers of dedication for the state, while the
women who were full of excitement sang praises and danced around the property.
