Ibos In Rivers Endorse Amaechi
The leader of Igbo resident in Rivers, Eze Adiele Maduagwu said they have declared support for the re-election bid of Gov. Chibuike Amaechi in April.
Maduagwu, who led members to visit the governor in Port Harcourt Tuesday under the aegis of “Ndi Igbo,” said their support was anchored on Amaechi’s performance in office in the past three years.
Maduagwu said Igbo in the state had appraised the governor’s performance and decided to
support him. .
The group said Amaechi had performed credibly in the delivery of democracy dividends to residents and indigenes without bias.
It gave the governor pass mark in the areas of education, healthcare, roads and security. Responding, Amaechi restated his administration’s resolve to carry everybody along in the scheme of things irrespective of tribal differences.
“You cannot Jive and do business here for 10 years and above, and people say you are not from the state. You must be treated as Rivers persons” he said.
He maintained that the best way to bring about development in the state was to create atmosphere conducive for investments to thrive.
