Zero Pothole: RSG Engages Five Contractors
The Rivers State Government has engaged the services of five contractors to check potholes on roads in the state.
The State Commissioner for Works, Mr Dakuku Peterside who said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt also said that the contractors would be detailed to work in five different locations to ensure zero potholes in the state.
The commissioner explained that the move was in accordance with the ministry’s Operation Zero-pothole interventionist programme which aims at ensuring zero potholes in Port Harcourt city and its environs.
He also hinted that the ministry is working out a feedback mechanism to ensure the active participation of members of the public in the programme.
According to him, dedicated lines will soon be released to members of the public to enable them phone in or send emails, stressing that this will place the ministry in a better stead to evaluate its performance and be well informed on other areas that require attention.
Peterside said that the programme will complement the activities of the inter-ministerial committee on flooding and drainage problems earlier set up by the ministry.
