Stakeholder Wants FG To Revive Moribund Industries
A former President
of the Delta State Association of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chief Uju Udeme, has called on the government to revive moribund industries to boost the economic sector.
Udeme told in Asaba that one of the easiest ways to boost the economy was to resuscitate the moribund and ailing industries, especially those that had to do with manufacturing.
He said that industries were vital to the development of any country, adding that “any government that has industrial development on its agenda is sure to record economic growth.
“Nigeria is a country with great and abundant natural resources and if we can create industries for our natural resource, the nation’s economy will continue to boom,’’ he said.
Udeme said that reviving such industries and establishing new ones would not only boost the economy but also help to create employment for the teeming youths.
He said that resuscitating the industries would similarly encourage foreign investors to partner with the government to harness the abundant natural resources.
