Atiku Seeks Support In Delta
Former Vice President
Atiku Abubakar, presidential aspirant on the platform of APC, has solicited the support of party members in Delta State to enable him to emerge the flag bearer.
Atiku made the call while addressing the members in Asaba last Wednesday.
He said he was the right candidate that should get party’s ticket.
He added that he was also the only presidential aspirant of the party who had come to the state to ask for their support.
“Among the four of us contesting the position, I am the only one that has deemed it fit to come to Delta, I, therefore, want you to give me a chance to rule again’’, Atiku said.
Atiku promised that he would not to take Delta for granted if elected the president of Nigeria in 2015 general elections.
“I believe in democracy and that is why I am fighting for democracy in Nigeria.
“Everyone that enjoys democracy now should know that some people sacrificed their time for us to enjoy.
“If I had supported the third term bid during our administration, we would have still been in power today.
“So, it is high time we stopped electing those who do not desire to rule.’’
He also said that with the way things were, the country would soon become a two party system.
The State Chairman of APC, Mr Jone Erue, said the state was glad to receive Atiku.
He pledged the support of the members to Atiku to enable him to bring about the needed change in the country.
The Tide reports that Atiku had on arrival, donated an 18-seater Toyota bus to the party.
