Youth Council Advises Ogonis On National Unity
The National President of
Yoruba Youth Council (YYC), Comrade Eric Oluwole has urged the Ogonis to work towards the unity of the country.
The YYC president who was speaking at the 2nd anniversary of the Ogoni self- government declaration in Bori recently, said, the Ogoni people have the right to express their desire to the government, but advised them to pursue such desire with the interest and unity of the country.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the Ogoni self government group, Dr Goodluck Diigbo, had explained that the Ogonis were not seeking to divide the nation, but were agitating for their freedom as enshrined in the Ogoni Bill of Rights.
According to him, the Ogonis are peace loving people and would not do anything to break-up Nigeria.
