Osun Assures Serene Environment For Business
The Osun State
government has said that its environmental policies and programmes are aimed at creating serene environment for local and international businesses to thrive.
The Governor, Rauf Aregbesola said this in Osogbo, the state capital after being decorated as environmental marshall at an event organised by the State Ministry of Environment and Sanitation to mark this year’s World Environment Day.
Governor Aregbesola noted that clean environment was key to sustainable development, urging residents to key into environmental policies of the present administration to improve their health status.
While attributing the challenge of climate change and environmental change and environmental degradation to human error, the governor called on Nigerians to desist from unwholesome practices that could expose them to environmental degradation.
He assured the people of the state that his administration would continue to design programmes and formulate policies that would have direct impact on their standard of living.
In a remark, the state commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Professor Olubukola Oyawoye said the honour was in recognition of the contribution of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the area of environmental management.
He also hinted that the state had recorded tremendous success in the area of flood control.
