Reps Presents 10 Vehicles To Constituents
The member representing
Port Harcourt City Local Government Federal Constituency II in the National Assembly, Hon (Mrs) Blessing Charles Nsiegbe, has tasked members of her constituency to continue to support the state and the federal government to enable them succeed.
Speaking during the presentation of ten taxi cabs to the constituency as part of her empowerment programme, Hon (Mrs) Nsiegbe said that the task of nation building was too enormous to be left in the hands, of few individuals.
She urged members of her constituency and others to make sacrifices for the growth and development of the country “ I am a firm believer in the saying that we are God’s workmanship, fashioned for good works,” she said.
The Hon member noted that the vehicles would be put into commercial purpose to boost revenue to the 10 wards in her constituency.
According to her, the vehicles were intended to generate revenue for each ward to tackle primary party needs as well as assist members of the ward to serve soft loans from the proceeds.
While commissioning the vehicles, the chairman of the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini said that the party would not hesitate to discipline anyone who converted the vehicles to personal use.
Chief Nmerukini who was a former Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Council, described the ceremony as a reflection of good representation, stressing that the Hon Nsiegbe had done the constituency proud through her various activities in the National Assembly.
In her opening remarks, Hon Charles Paul who was chairman of the ceremony, described the gesture as the first of its kind in the area.
Hon Paul urged other elected and appointed members of the constituency to emulate her example.
