NURSS Outlines Welfare Package For Rivers Students
The National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS), says it is determined to work with the government to improve the welfare of Rivers students in tertiary instiutions across the country.
In a press release signed by the NURSS national president, Comrade God’s Power Chioma Egbule and the secretary Com. Amiebi Ibama Harcourt Harry and made available to The Tide says the new welfare package includes the building of permanent secretariat office for the union.
The statement further revealed that the new arragnment would also include the launching of NURSS website, constitutional amendment, organisation of poetry competition as well as seminars for students.
The union urged Rivers students in higher institutions of learning to take their academics serious and urged the state governor, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to fulfill the payment of his 100% bursary increment adding that the payment of the bursary would go along way to support students in tertiary institutions to further take their academic pursuit serious.
The union further commended the state governor for his developmental strides and policy thrust in the state geared towards improving the lives of Rivers people and assured him of the Rivers students support to his administration.
The statement also thanked the special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Hon Princewill Dike for his immense support to the union and prayed the Almighty God to continue to protect him at all times.
