Keep Amnesty Promise, Cleric Tells FG
The Federal Government has been charged to keep its amnesty promise in order to discourage the “boys” form returning back to the creeks.
The president of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS) Bro Oseghale Emmanule Aighalua made the call in Port Harcourt Sunday during its freedom Day Divine service.
In his sermon titled “Holding Faith and A Good Conscience”, Bro Aighalua noted that it is only when the federal government and its agencies keep to their promises that the amnesty issue will come to stay.
The clergyman who lauded the federal government over amnesty granted to militants in the Niger Delta region, observed that the gesture has brought a positive change to the church, adding that ministers of God now access the coastal areas without qualms.
He also called on mothers to teach their girl-children the true way of the lord, saying that they should teach them more on spiritual beauty than the outward beauty.
The GKS president pointed out with dismay the error of some Christains who lay more emphasis on secular education which according to him, does not bring about the knowledge of God.
“Secular education does not teach morals, it does not teach the word of God, it does not bring about the fear of God. But the children should be brought closer to God, so that they will be grounded in the things of God,” he said.
Furthermore, he lambasted parents/guidance over their attitude outside the church, saying that as good soldiers of the Lord they should live by good examples.
