Association Hails Eze Ekpeye Logbo’s Emergence
The Ekpeye Oil and Gas Pipeline Host Families Association has described the emergence of Eze Kelvin Anugwo, as Eze Ekpeye Logbo III as an act of God.
Eze Anugwo, who hails from the Upata Clan of Ekpeye Kingdom, beat three other contestants to emerge as Eze Ekpeye Logbo III.
Twelve delegates voted in the election which took place in Ahoada Town.
Eze Anugwo scored five votes, High Chief Nname Robinson Ewor got four votes, High Chief Stephen Ezekwem got three votes, while High Dulu Appah got no vote.
In a press release signed by Chairman of the association, Comrade Dogini Chidi, the families also attributed the landmark victory of Eze Anugwo to his pedigree and leadership qualities, adding that a new feather has been added to the head gear of the new Ekpeye monarch.
“Our King, your pedigree has brought you this golden eagle feather that has been added to your head gear amongst equals.”
He also noted that the situation will bring unprecedented development and peace in Ekpeye Clan.
Chidi particularly said Ekpeye will return to its ancient status as a leading kingdom in the State.
He told newsmen that time has come for the youths to capitalise on the opportunity to shun crime and criminality as well as pursue those ventures that will bring peace not just to Ekpeye clan but the entire Rivers State.
He also commended the peaceful conduct of the election and called for support to the new monarch.
