Fuel: NMDPRA Seals 4 Filling Stations For Hoarding, Under Dispensing

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has sealed four petrol stations in Uvwie and Udu Local Government Areas of Delta for hoarding and under dispensing.
The Tide’s source reports that the regulatory body on Wednesday sealed the stations after carrying out surveilance of filling stations in the area.
Mr Chukwurah Goziem, Head, Health, Safety, Environment and Community of NMDPRA, Warri office led the surveillance team.
Goziem said that three of the erring stations were sealed in Uvwie, while the fourth was in Udu.
The defaulting stations are: Mobil, Fomas Marine Engineering Services, Esiton Oil and Seed & Enoch Nigeria Limited.
He said that the surveillance, which was a routine exercise was to ensure that petroleum marketers operate in line with the rules and regulations of NMDPRA.
“Routine surveillance is part of our responsibilities and we check practically on a daily basis to ensure that Nigerians got value for their money.
“So far today, we have been able to seal four petrol stations over various offences bordering on hoarding and under-dispensing.
“The exercise has been successful. We have monitored more than 15 filling stations.
“We will continue to intensify our surveillance to ensure sharp practices by the petroleum marketers are brought to the barest minimum,” he said.
He advised marketers against hoarding products, while urging the consumers not to indulge in panic buying assuring that the situation would soon normalise.
Goziem also advised consumers to report any sharp practices by the marketers to the regulatory agency for appropriate sanction.
