Okrika LG Boss Sues For Peace In Rivers
The Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council, Hon Akuro Tobin, has sued for peace in the ongoing political impasse in the State.
Tobin, who made the call at the revalidation and confirmation of Grassroot Development Initiative’s (GDI) LGA and Ward Executive Committee members in Okrika, advised all GDI members not to resort to abusing leaders under any guise.
He informed the gathering that almost every person from the State who are in positions of authority today are all products of the GDI, including His Excellency, the Governor, hence, the need to ensure peace and unity in the State for development to thrive.
He urged all members of the GDI to remain steadfast and resolute, saying “the evil days would soon be over”.
In his remarks, President General of the GDI, Hon. Bright Amewhule, commended the Okrika Council Chairman for being a steadfast and dedicated disciple of the GDI.
Amewhule noted that the situation in the State is being orchestrated by enemies and crisis entrepreneurs whose stock in trade is to fan the embers of division so that GDI members and others who truly worked for the emergence of the Governor would not benefit from the system they worked so hard for.
The GDI President General stated that the end of the crisis entrepreneurs would soon come and victory would belong to the GDI family and true lovers of the State.
Solidarity messages were also received from a former Commissioner for Health in Rivers State and Patron of the GDI in Okrika LGA, Dr. Sampson Parker, as well as the leader of the Okrika LGA Legislative Arm, Paul Abam.
