‘Let’s Give In Proportion To God’s Blessings On Us’
Bishop of Ohaji/Egbema Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Collins Chidi Oparaojiaku has enjoined Evo Diocese faithful in Rivers State to give in proportion to God’s blessings on them.
He was the guest preacher at the Diocesan Annual Harvest Thanksgiving service held at St James Anglican Church, Iriebe District, last Sunday.
“We are to give according to the proportion that God has blessed and prospered us,” Oparaojiaku said.
The theme: “Harvest of Valiant Offerings” was taken from Exodus 25:1; 35:4-5,21.
Also speaking, Bishop of Evo Diocese, the Rt Rev Innocent Uchechukwu Ordu, said the Harvest Thanksgiving was indeed a celebration and appreciation of God’s faithfulness, mercies, deliverance, healing and abundant blessings on members of Evo Diocese, Anglican Communion.
The service was used as a time to appreciate God for His mighty deliverance and healing upon the life of the bishop.
While addressing the congregation, Ordu said it was a harvest of big things because of the great and mighty miracles that God has done for him and the entire Evo faithful.
“We cannot pay God for what He has done for us, however, we can show an attitude of appreciation when we give back to Him that which He has given us,” he said.
The only lesson of the service was taken by the bishop’s wife, Mrs Chinyere Ordu.
Two key traditional rulers at the harvest were the Paramount Ruler of Iriebe Community, Eze Jeremiah Worenwu, and a paramount ruler in Delta State who is security adviser to the bishop, Clement Ejiofor.
The staff of office presented to Clement Ejiofor by the Delta State Government as a first class traditional ruler was dedicated at the service by Ordu.
The host priest, Rev Canon Joseph Ofoegbu, and Chairperson of the Diocesan Harvest Committee, Lady Felicia Derek-Iyo, were visibly excited about the success of the harvest.
