A’Ibom Assembly Approves N456.2bn 2021 Budget
The Akwa Ibom State Assembly on Wednesday approved a budget of N456.251bn for 2021.
The budget is made up of N164.5bn for recurrent expenditure, N241.4bn for capital expenditure, and N50.2bn for consolidated revenue fund charges.
The passage of the budget formed part of the proceedings as the House resumed plenary Tuesday after a two months’ recess.
After due legislative scrutiny in the Committee of Supply chaired by the Speaker, Aniekan Bassey, the House passed the 2021 Budget into law and urged the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Mandu Umoren to communicate the same to Governor Udom Emmanuel for assent.
