Monarch Urges Fleeing Ubima Residents To Return
Paramount Ruler of Ubima Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Iheanyi Prince Williams, has urged residents who fled the area at the wake of some disturbances to return, assuring that peace has now returned there.
The monarch also called on people of the community to support the Ubima Security and Advisory Planning Committee (USPAC) to enable them carry out their assignments effectively.
Eze Williams, who is the Eze Chitusurugo 3, Nye Nweli Ubima, and First Class traditional ruler, made the call in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said security agencies deployed to the community are ensuring that there is no further breach of the peace.
According to the monarch my advice to those of the them who have left the community long ago for fear of death is that they should come back. Sanity has returned to Ubima and those who are doing business in Ubima should come back and start their legitimate business. Nobody will intimidate or harass them anymore.
“The law enforcement agencies are doing quite a lot for us,” he said, while also calling on opposition political parties to support Governor Nyesom Wike to enable him succeed,” he said.
“My advice to the opposition is that they should join hands with the Governor and build our state. If you continue to fight because you are not in power, the state will be in chaos and the Governor will be distracted.
“The Governor is doing well and working tremendously for the betterment and development of this state. The elections are over and now the Supreme Court has affirmed the victory of the Governor. So let them drop whatever grievances they have and join the Governor to make him succeed,” he stated.
The Ubima Paramount Ruler lauded Governor Wike for what he called “his outstanding performance” across the state, such as the quality projects, which, he said, had earned him widespread support and acceptance.
Eze Williams listed some of the projects of the Governor as the Pleasure Park, New National Industrial Court Complex for the judiciary, a number of Road projects, completion of the Rumuwoji (Mile One) Market, completion of the Ogunabali Fruit and Vegetable Markets, both of which were gutted by fire.
“Another landmark project that he (Wike) recently awarded is the construction of three flyovers in the state, at Garrison, Artillery and Rumuokoro junctions,” saying these massive projects, apart from easing traffic, will add to the beauty of the State and help restore the Garden City Status of Port Harcourt.
