Ministry Holds Training For Information Officers In PH
All is now set for the hosting of a one-day training workshop for Information Officers in Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs) and the 23 local government areas in Port Harcourt.
Organised by the Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications, with the theme: “Repositioning Information Officers for Greater Efficiency and Productivity”, the workshop is designed to strengthen the capacity of information managers in the public service to better manage and disseminate information of the policies and programmes of the state government for the good of Rivers people and others resident or doing business in the state.
A statement from the Chairman, Organising Committee of the workshop, Valentine Ugboma, said the workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, November 12, 2019 by 10 am at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, Moscow Road in Port Harcourt.
According to the committee, the workshop would be chaired by the Chairman, Committee on Information and Training of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Enemi George Alabo, while the Rivers State Head of Service, Barrister Rufus Godwins, would be the Special Guest of Honour.
The statement further indicated that the workshop’s main facilitator is Prof Godwin Okon; while the Chief Host is the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim.
