Gateway Utd’s Coach Confident Of Promotion
Chief Coach of Gateway United FC of Ogun State, Akeem Busari yesterday vowed that the team would bounce back after its barren home draw against Ekiti United FC.
Tidesports source reports that the Gateway Boys were unimpressive in the Southwest derby opening fixtures of Nigeria National League (NNL) Group B3, last Wednesday.
The Busari-tutored side failed to get off to a flying start by sharing the spoils with the visitors.
The Media Officer of the team, Moses Ojewumi in a statement in Lagos said that coach Busari had assured new strategies to get team back to winning ways so as to gain promotion to the elite league.
“It’s a very sad draw. It’s painful and we know that our fans are not happy about it. It’s football.
“We just have to psyche up our players. We normally score early goals but it was just a bad day in the office. We will work more and ensure we pick points on the road.
“I want to allay the fears of our supporters. There’s no cause for alarm. We shall make them proud at the end. It’s a just a blip. Our resolve is to bounce back,” he said.
Tidesports source reports that Gateway United will begin their Ogun FA Cup campaign in Ijebu Ode on April 13, against Customs FC.
The team will then travel to Auchi to face Dynamite FC on April 20, for the Match Day 2 of the 2018/2019 NNL.
