‘FA Cup, Training Ground For Young Players’
The Head Coach of Rivers United Football Academy of Port Harcourt, Ken Chukwu, says the essence of Federation Cup is basically to catch them young in the game of football.
He stated that giving young ones the required training and techniques will help them become masters of the game in future.
Coach Chukwu made the assertion last Wednesday in an exclusive interview with Tidesports source at Sharks Football Club Stadium, Port Harcourt, after his team defeated SKE FC in the State 1-0.
He expressed joy over the victory and commended his players for their impressive performance, adding that it was a good game.
“Every body in the stadium today enjoyed the game. It was like the final of the competition,”Chukwu said.
He explained that every game has different plan, saying that he will approach the next game with a different tactics.
Also speaking, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in his team, Felix Okechukwu gave God the glory for the victory.
“ Our victory was as a result of team work. I thank my coach who fielded me to play the match”, Okechukwu said.
Earlier, the head coach of SKE FC, Sanni Tunde said he felt bad as he lost the game.
“Fedaration Cup has no respect for any team. We created lots of chances yet we could not score, but the only one they got they utilised it and it was a bad result for us,” Tunde noted.
