Butchers In Police Net For Stabbing Barber
The police in Ekiti State have arrested three butchers for allegedly stabbing a barber, Ajibola Falegan, at a viewing centre in Ado Ekiti.
The 33-year-old Falegan, an indigene of Erinjiyan Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area of the state, was allegedly attacked by the assailants at the viewing centre located along Nova road, Baisiri within the capital city last Wednesday evening.
The suspects are being detained at the Police station located along new Iyin road in Ado Ekiti after they were arrested around 10.30pm on Wednesday.
Falegan, who is now receiving treatment at a private medical centre in the state, had a deep cut in the head and body while being attacked by the suspects with cutlasses and knives.
Narrating his ordeal to journalists on his hospital bed yesterday, Falegan said the suspects were having altercation with a brother at the viewing centre before he got there only for them to allegedly pounce on him upon sighting him at the venue.
He said he passed out when the attackers stabbed him in the head and body and only regained consciousness when he got to the hospital.
Falegan added that the attackers allegedly stole his Techno L9+ phone worth N70,000 and cash sum of N10,000 during the attack which he described as unwarranted.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
