Be Professional, Commissioner Tells Military Personnel
The Rivers State Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Hon Damiete Herbert Miller, has condemned the alleged interference of the military in the just concluded elections across the state.
Hon.Miller who said this shortly after casting his vote at Ogurama, in Degema Local Government Area described the alleged interference of the military personnel during the elections as unprofessional.
He urged them to stop doing anything that will undermine the peace and stability of the state, adding that they should treat people with respect.
He noted that the agency was supposed to create conducive environment for the elections to take place smoothly and not to disrupt it.
Hon. Miller further condemned the alleged invasion by military personnel of the house of the Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja
The commissioner also commended the people of Ogurama for the peaceful manner in which they conducted themselves
He also advised INEC to improve in their services as most persons were unable to be accredited due to failure of the equipment to capture their finger prints.
On his part the Chairman of Degema Local Government Areas, Dr Tony Philemore, commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting free and fair elections.
According to him, Saturday’s elections was the first elections that has been properly organized by the commission.
He encouraged the people of Degema Local Government Area to always maintain peace and harmony regardless of their political differences.
Dr. Philemore thanked God for the peaceful atmosphere across the areas, saying the elections was been conducted without loss of life.
Also speaking the Managing Director of Micro Finance Bank, Dr. Ipalibo Sogules, advised INEC to capture their finger prints.
