Commissioner Tasks C’River Indigenes On Polls
The Cross River State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Rosemary Archibong has asked Cross Riverians, and Nigerians to be optimistic of the general elections.
Mrs Archibong gave the admonition during an exhortation at her ministry’s thanksgiving service held at its headquarters in Calabar.
In a sermon tagged, “you are not alone,” with scriptures from the book of Psalm 91vs. 11-12, the commissioner assured the people that God had given His angels charge over His children and all that concerns them in 2019, prophesying that ahead of the forthcoming general elections, Cross River and indeed Nigeria will not be destroyed.
The Commissioner, who also reminded Nigerians to always make their ways God’s ways, emphasised that it was only when one’s ways were in sync with God, that the injunction in Psalm 91 vs. 11-12 can be invoked.
The information and orientation commissioner urged the people to commit everything to God and never rely on the ephemeral and fleeting efforts of man, adding that without God, man is bereft of everything.
Mrs Archibong further stated that it was for the Lord’s goodness in 2018 towards her Ministry, the government and good people of the state that the ministry of information and orientation deemed it expedient to return all the thanks to the Almighty God.
The spiritually-charged event also featured prayers for the Government of the State, Governor Ben Ayade and family, the forthcoming general elections, a fruitful and peaceful year and Nigeria.
