Bishop Urges Anglicans To Promote Peace, Unity
The Bishop of Evo Diocese of the Anglican Church in Rivers State, Rt. Rev. Innocent Ordu, has emphasised the highly symbolic and significant place of the Biblical Number Seven in the affairs of men on earth, urging the church to promote peace, unity and development at all times.
Ordu made this statement during his Episcopal visit for the 7th year Anniversary Thanksgiving and confirmation celebration of candidates baptised into the Faith at Chapel of Grace and knowledge Anglican Church, Elelenwo, Obio/Akpor local government area of the state, recently.
While speaking at the event, Ordu congratulated the church on its success in the last seven years, and encouraged members to do more and not to remain docile in the scheme of things.
He also thanked God for the church’s existence to serve the college community at Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Grammar School (ACMGS), Elelenwo
“The No. 7 is a memorial that depicts celebration. As a mission-oriented church, you have been vision-oriented in these seven years with the right mind and understanding to achieve more successes. If you remains stagnant as a church, you will not grow” the bishop said.
Ordu congratulated the newly confirmed candidates, and urged them to fight the good fight of faith as admonished by the scripture.
“Having been confirmed, you are now an instrument of peace in God’s vineyard. I urge you to shun lifestyles that will cause an hindrance to the service of God. As confirmation launches you to the service of God, live an upright life as a Christian and it shall be well with you,” Ordu added.
