Coordinator of Mass Movement for Good Governance (MMGG) Bishop Godswill E. Jumbo has assured of peace during the re-run election in Rivers State this weekend.
Jumbo said this at the Rivers State Grassroots Intercessors and Prayer Warriors Conference at the college of Act and Science, Port Harcourt yesterday.
The coordinator during the all-night prayer conference urged the youths to lay down their weapons and allow the God’s given peace to reign in the state, as God had assured.
He said that the prayer was to seek the face of God in the election adding that Christians should continue to pray till the end of election on Saturday.
“If we destroy the state today because of our interest, there will not be any Rivers State tomorrow”, he said. He therefore stressed the need for conducive environment for the voters to make their choice.
Speaking during the programme, the Guest Speaker of the conference, Rev. Peter W. Georgewill expressed concern that believers had refused to stand in the gap for the state in prayers.
Georgewill reiterated that God had given believers powers to stop evil in the society, adding that Christians had failed in their duties having compromised in preaching the gospel and living the life of righteousness.
He cautioned that every leader across strata must give account of their leadership roles to the citizenry.
In his contribution, the National Programme Director Evang. Isaac N. C. Isaac said that God would frustrate every projection of evil during and after election, stating that “Rivers State is important to Nigeria, the South South and the South East, not to talk of Nigeria at large”.
He called on Governor Nyesom Wike to remain resolute and firm in moving the state forward.
