Social Media Beneficial To Entertainment Industry – Expert
Marketing and Sales
specialist of ENPLUG, Koyinsola Kadejo, an entertainment outfit, has said that social media has been of immense benefit to the nation’s entertainment industry.
She told newsmen in Lagos on Tuesday that the medium had provided a viable platform for budding talents to showcase their talents to the world.
“With the aid of social media technologies, upcoming artistes could gain local and international recognition just by posting their works online,” she said.
Kadejo said that because of the low cost and easy access to the internet it’s easier for financially constrained artist to come to the limelight.
“Due to the financial constraints most artist face in the country we are working on partnership basis with some of them to achieve stardom.
“That’s why we are here, to help upcoming and even known artist to get the best social media technologies as to offer to upgrade their careers.
“There are strategies and techniques to using social media technologies to achieve certain goals, and we are here to enlighten artists on how to go about it,” she said.
She added that the building up of followership on social media is the first step to take to get the full benefits of social media technologies.
“Although getting followership is one of the first steps, it’s also the most difficult, because you will have to put out contents that will attract followership,” she said.
Kadejo stressed that the content was almost insignificant, but the buzz and hype of the content that an individual puts out is of utmost importance.
“For example take the Mayweather and Pacquiao fight, it generated over 400 million dollars, but spectators of the fights said the fight did not live up to the hype.
“All that matters is the use and the fact that social media technologies have achieved its goal.
“That’s what we want to replicate in Nigeria, to help artist, entertainers and virtually any industry that needs coordinated publicity.
“We are doing this not only to help the artist, but also to boost the economy, engage restive youths in gainful ventures and reduce unemployment in the land,” she said.
