NIPOST Set To Recruit New Workers
The Nigerian Postal
Service (NIPOST), says it has concluded plans to carryout massive employment exercise throughout the federation.
A top management staff of the NIPOST Territorial Headquarters in Port Harcourt, who pleaded anonymity, said the plans were hatched after the successful conduct of its 2015 promotion exercise in the country.
The source informed that NIPOST had not carried out any employment exercise in recent times due to some issues that have to do with managerial arrangement.
According to him, the service has the capacity to employ over 2000 workers in each geo-political zone of the country following its large areas of reach.
He explained that the headquarter would soon make available the modalities on how the exercise will be conducted.
While ruling out the possibility of favoritism during the planned recruitment, he said it would be conducted in an open manner that would favour all applicants.
According to him, those who may apply within Grade Level 04 are likely to be employed first due to the level of pay, while others may experience brief delay before confirmation.
The source, reiterated that the Nigerian government and people have not contributed meaningfully to the growth of postal services in the country.
He reasoned that since the agency was not only into mail handling alone, the government and people ought to do all its printing and minting jobs via the post.
Meanwhile, he has lauded the Post Master-general of the Federation, Mallam Mori Baba over his determination that NIPOST workers are treated well like their counterparts elsewhere.
