RSSDA Harps On HSE Policies In Work Places
The Rivers State Sustain
able Development Agency (RSSDA) has canvassed for regular enforcement of policies on Health Safety and Environment (HSE) to reduce the rate of industrial accidents.
The Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Mr Noble Pepple who said this while declaring open the agency’s Health Safety and Environment (HSE) week in Port Harcourt also stressed the need for more sensitisation to checkmate the rate of domestic accident.
He said that the annual safety week was to promote safety at the various offices and project sites of the agency, saying that for the last one year, the agency did not witness any accident among its staff.
He also hinted that over 300 graduates of the Governor’s special overseas scholarships had returned to the state.
The Executive Director said that activities at the Rivers Songhai at Bunu Tai were being commercialised to generate income.
He noted that the DADTCO Rivers Cassava farm project was ready for commissioning and expressed the hope that funding of the agency would improve next year to enable it consolidate on its achievement.
Also speaking, the General Manager, Human Resources and Administration of Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA), Mr Tonye Sukubo said that the agency would soon extend the programme to other members of the public.
Mr Sukubo stated that the programme had reduced the rate of accident in the agency.
