New CTC Boss Warns Against Laxity
Workers in Ahoada-
West Local Government Area, have been charged to ensure that they justify their pay by regular attendance to their duties.
The new Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Council, Mr. Victor Abaje, gave the charge last Thursday while swearing –in the caretaker members at Akinima, the council’s headquarters.
He said that the only way to justify their monthly pay and other allowances was to show dedication to duty .
Abaje, who also sought for cooperation among the wives in the council, called for a new approach towards work in a bid to achieve high production.
According to him, there would be stringent measures as to prove the seriousness of his statement, adding that things must be done orderly in the council.
Another issue that would not be tolerated, according to him, was lateness to work and slow approach to issues bordering on work improvement.
“If you are a cleaner, you must come to work, if you are a labourer, you must come to work, no matter your position you must come to work, if not I will not be happy with you”, he said.
In his response, the Head of Local Government Administration in the area, Mr. Friday Nkoue, pointed that the former CTC, saved upto N12.5 million in the treasury.
Part of the cash, he explained, came from the SURE-P funds and Agrip as part of their efforts towards attaining debt free council.
Other committees were also sworn-in in order to achieve a better result in the council.
