Bishop Advises Couples To Trust In God
The Bishop, Diocese of
Evo, Anglican Communion, Rt Rev. Innocent Ordu, has advised couples seeking for the fruit of the womb to put their trust in God as He would surely visit them in His own time.
In a sermon at the dedication of little Igho, daughter of Barrister and Mrs Josephine Mike Ejims Enwukwe at the St Mark’s Anglican Church, Elelenwo Deanery, Bishop Ordu said that with God, no woman was barren.
The cleric said that most couples resort to herbalists and native doctors to seek for the fruit of the womb, stressing that such practices were abominable before the Lord.
Ordu, who cited various Bible verses to buttress his point, said the God is a faithful and responsible father who knows what was good for His children, noting that men have to learn to wait patiently for Him.
He said that the ceremony was in line with the scriptures as the church believes in nurturing of children from birth to adulthood and charged the parents to ensure that the child was brought up in the fear of the Lord.
In her testimony Mrs Josephine Enwukwe described the birth of little Igho as a miracle as she was thrown out of her first matrimonial home as a result of childlessness.”One thing led to another and for upwards of twelve years, I was not blessed with a child, until I was thrown out of my matrimonial home.
In the face of these tribulations, an inner voice kept ringing it in my eardrums that “delay is not denial” and I held on tenaciously to consolatory assurance.”
She advised those who are still childless to not only wait on God, but make the best use of medical facilities available in their areas to check whatever problem they might have.
On his part, Barrister Mike Ejims Enwukwe who is also the Sole Administrator of Risonpalm Nigeria Limited said that God brought he and his wife together, stressing that this has made them to put their trust in him. He said that the service was to show what God has done for his family.
